Updated: Camera Burst Mode For iPhone 5, iPhone 4s And More Added In iOS 7 GM

Apple’s iPhone 5s is set to launch with impressive improvements in the camera department. However, one such feature thought to be reserved for the upcoming handset – a “burst mode” for the Camera app – is available to access now in the prerelease iOS 7 Gold Master (GM), and is reportedly compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, and more.
The news comes from iDownloadBlog, who explains that the feature can be accessed in the iOS 7 GM Camera app by holding a finger down on the shutter icon. Doing so will result in one’s iDevice taking “continuous, rapid shots,” the website explains.
Though Apple unveiled the feature alongside its iPhone 5s, which also sports an exciting slow motion mode of video recording, an f/2.2 aperture, and a larger active sensor area that supports 1.5 micron pixels, the Cupertino, Calif. company did not announce that the Camera app’s burst mode would be available for other iDevices. As such, no information concerning compatibility has been formally confirmed.
That being said, iDownloadBlog’s research indicates that the feature is available for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad 3, and fifth-generation iPod touch. It seems that the iPhone 4, at least, is unable to support the feature due to “hardware limitations.”
